Dr. Pippa Malmgren is a trend spotter who advises investors and governments about economic policy and investment strategy. She anticipated the Financial Crisis in 2007, the slowdown in China, Brexit, Trump and the return of inflation. Pippa is also the author to the book Signals: How Everyday Signs Can Help Us Navigate the World’s Turbulent Economy where she describes how to predict and prepare for the next economic surprise by interpreting the signals in the economic landscape.   Pippa was named one of the Top 20 Most Influential Economists by Richtopia. She has previously served as the special assistant to the president of the United States for economic policy on the National Economic Council, and is a former member of the U.S. President’s Working Group on Financial Markets. She was the Deputy Head of Strategy for UBS and the Chief Currency Strategist for Bankers Trust. She also ran Bankers Trust’s Asset Management business in Asia from Hong Kong. She is a Non Executive Board Member of the new Department of International Trade in the UK, advising on Brexit. Pippa Malmgren started her career at OECD.
